Celebrating 100 Years of the Pakenham Girl Guides – A Community United

The 3rd of May marked an extraordinary milestone as the Pakenham Girl Guides celebrated their 100th birthday—a century of empowering young girls, building resilience, fostering leadership, and shaping generations of confident, capable women. Reaching such a landmark is no small feat. It is a testament to the dedication of leaders past and present, the unwavering support of families, and the enduring spirit of the Guides themselves.

For 100 years, the Girl Guides movement in Pakenham has stood as a beacon of opportunity, inclusivity, and growth. Through outdoor adventures, community service, and lifelong friendships, they have created a space where young people can discover who they are and whom they aspire to be. Their impact reaches far beyond their meetings and activities. It echoes throughout the entire community.

It was with great pride that the Widows Sons Victoria had the opportunity to support this remarkable celebration by volunteering their time to man the barbecue. While a simple gesture on the surface, it reflects a deeper commitment. One rooted in the core tenets of Freemasonry: charity, service, and brotherhood.

The Widows Sons are more than riders; they are active members of the communities they serve. Supporting local organisations like the Pakenham Girl Guides is a reflection of their belief that strong communities are built through connection, contribution, and shared purpose. By standing alongside the Guides on such a significant day, they honour not only the organisation’s legacy but also its future.

This collaboration highlights something truly special: the power of community groups coming together to celebrate, support, and uplift one another. The strength of the Girl Guides lies in their ability to inspire and nurture; the strength of the Widows Sons lies in their willingness to serve and give back. Together, they demonstrate what can be achieved when community spirit is at the forefront.

As the Pakenham Girl Guides step into their second century, there is no doubt they will continue to inspire countless more young people, leaving an even greater legacy in their wake. Their story is one of perseverance, growth, and unwavering positivity—a story worth celebrating today and every day.

On behalf of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association Victoria, congratulations to the Pakenham Girl Guides on 100 incredible years. Here’s to the next century of adventure, leadership, and community impact.

Yours in community spirit,

Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association Victoria.
