The Guardian of Membership is appointed by the President and has several key responsibilities. Their primary role is to maintain a comprehensive database that includes the names, addresses, ages, contact information, license details, bike registrations, birthdays, medical conditions, allergies, and next of kin information for all members. Additionally, they will keep similar records for candidates, including the date of their nomination.
The Guardian of Membership is responsible for collecting membership fees when they are due and will collaborate with the Treasurer, Secretary, and Master at Arms regarding these fees. They will also provide counselling, organize visits, and assist members as needed. The Guardian will act as a liaison between the members and the Executive and will report on membership matters at executive meetings.
Furthermore, the Guardian of Membership must confirm that new applicants are Freemasons in good standing, interview new members who do not have a vouch, and provide orientation and training to candidates during their initiation period. They will work closely with the Master at Arms throughout this process.
